On March 4, 2019, PDAC and the World Economic Forum co-hosted the fourth annual International Mines Ministers Summit (IMMS). The Summit brought together 24 ministers responsible for mining from around the world.
The event provided an important setting for the global mining community to explore challenges and opportunities affecting the industry. This year’s Summit focused on the theme The Future of Responsible Mineral Supply Chains. Discussions focused on the importance of responsible mineral supply chains for promoting sustainable social, environmental and economic development in mineral-rich countries. The Summit was held during PDAC 2019 Convention at the Bank of Montreal in Toronto.
The Intergovernmental Forum on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development prepared a report of the Summit: The Future of Responsible
Mineral Supply Chains. The report is available in English, French and Spanish.
Next year’s International Mines Ministers Summit will be held on March 2, 2020.
