2021 Mary-Claire Ward Geoscience Award Recipient

Congratulations to Rebecca Canam of Wilfred Laurier University, this year’s recipient of the Mary-Claire Ward Geoscience Award. Rebecca’s MSc thesis investigates the Paleoproterozoic structural evolution of the western margin of the Rae craton exposed in the Nonacho Lake area of the southeastern Northwest Territories.

Joan Bath & Peter Howe Bursary 2021 Recipients

Congratulations to Tia Shapka-Fels and Darius Kamal of the University of British Columbia, the 2021 recipients of the Joan Bath and Peter Howe Bursary for Advancement in the Mineral Industry. Tia’s research aims to investigate the transition of an open-pit mine with an underlying caving operation and identify the geomechanical risks. Darius’ M.Sc. research project focuses on deciphering the geometry and kinematic history of the world-class Zn-Pb deposits at Howard’s Pass, located on the border of the Yukon and NWT.

Volunteer in exchange for a FREE Student All-Access Pass
