S-IMEW 2019: May 2-16, 2019

Twenty-six of the top Canadian geoscience post-secondary students have been selected to attend the workshop in Sudbury, Ontario. Hosted at Cambrian College, S-IMEW will offer students the opportunity to participate in lectures, presentations and field trips that will touch on exploration techniques and mineral deposits, geophysics, geochemistry, regulatory requirements, environmental sciences, health and safety, and corporate social responsibility. A four-day field trip will take students to Rouyn-Noranda and Val d'Or, Quebec, to explore the geology of those mining camps and the Abitibi Greenstone belt. The group will be hosted by Glencore to tour the smelter and by Vale for an underground mine tour.

Alan Coutts, President & CEO, Noront Resources, will deliver the keynote address at the Welcome Reception on May 3 at Dynamic Earth.
Networking is an important aspect of the workshop and students have the opportunity to meet and mingle with over 90 volunteers from the exploration and development industry who deliver the S-IMEW course content.

We are delighted to have the continued support of Osisko Mining Inc. as the Premier sponsor of the workshop.
