State of Mineral Finance 2018 |
PDAC released its State of Mineral Finance 2018 report, detailing financing dynamics for the mineral exploration and mining industry since 2011. Financing and activity levels within the mineral industry have followed commodity price trends, improving in recent years from low points reached in 2015. Yet despite apparent improvements, both financing opportunities and activity levels remain well below peaks realized in 2011. Read the report |

Identifying shortages to meet demands |
Geology, engineering and environmental science professionals are retiring at a faster rate than they are being recruited and trained. Laurentian University and James Cook University (Australia) are conducting a study to identify the skills, competency and behavioural gaps being felt in these areas. Geologists, engineers and environmental scientists in mining are asked to complete this survey to help the industry understand how it can meet demands.
