Stuart Averill

Overburden Drilling Management Limited , Ottawa , Canada

Stu Averill is Chairman of Overburden Drilling Management Limited (ODM), a company that he founded 50 years ago to develop and apply indicator mineral methods for mineral exploration. Stu has progressively advanced this technology and is recognized as its pioneer and leading authority. Stu holds a BSc. (Hons.) in geology from the University of Manitoba. He has published several influential papers on indicator minerals and was presented with the PDAC’s Distinguished Service Award in 2003 and the gold medal of the Association of Applied Geochemists in 2017.
