Surviving the blaze: Facing crisis together (integrated with the Indigenous program)

DATE
Tuesday, March 5, 2024
LOCATION
Room 715
In 2023, the forest fires in Northern Québec were extraordinary in both size and in intensity. The level of collaboration with communities would surprise many: from coordinating resources during mass evacuations to organizing activities for evacuees in shelters. When hard times hit, our first reflex is to look to each other for help. Governmental authorities also acknowledge the mining sector's resources: what we offer in remote areas and how these resources can be harnessed when emergencies occur.
