The race for critical minerals: Geopolitics, onshoring and hunting for capital

DATE
Sunday, March 3, 2024
LOCATION
Room 715
The race for critical minerals continues to accelerate as countries seek to fulfill their looming needs for the green energy transition and other high-tech applications. Complicated in this objective by geopolitical instability, competition and supply shock vulnerability, Western countries are working to collectively build more diversified, secure and resilient critical mineral supply chains. Achieving this goal will require faster project development and enormous investments and partnerships by the public and private sectors. This session will explore these issues and how mining companies can benefit from the historic opportunities available for government investments and seek to leverage them with private investors and capital markets for successful development.
