The following bursaries, grants and scholarship opportunities are available to undergraduate students.
GAC-PDAC Logan Student Prize
The GAC-PDAC Logan Student Prize supports the career and academic advancement of geoscience students. The Prize is awarded annually to one undergraduate student at each CCCESD-member department (~32 departments). The Prize consists of a monetary award, one-year memberships in both GAC and PDAC, and an electronic certificate.
The Dennis R Prince Memorial Scholarship
The Dennis R. Prince Memorial Scholarship has been made available by the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada, Falconbridge Ltd., the Porcupine Prospectors and Developers Association, the mining community, colleagues, friends and family of the late Dennis Prince.
The annual scholarship, valued at $2,000.00 and an engraved Brunton compass, will be awarded to a final year student specializing in mineral exploration and development in the honours program of the undergraduate degree in Earth Sciences at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Dennis graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1970 with a BSc Honours degree. He led a distinguished career as a geologist with twenty-nine years at Falconbridge Ltd.
