Geological Survey of Canada

Sally Pehrsson is a Research Scientist at the Geological Survey of Canada in Ottawa, Ontario. She obtained a B.Sc. (1988) and M.Sc. (1990) from Carleton University and a Ph.D. (1998) from Queen's University and has worked for the GSC since 1991, mapping and researching the tectonometamorphic evolution of Archean and Proterozoic orogens of the Canadian Shield, using tectonic evolution at all scales to improve regional to district-scale metallogenic understanding. For the past decade much of her research has focused on integrating ore deposit evolution with paleogeographic reconstruction of Precambrian supercontinents in order to better understand the effect of supercontinent style on crust and ore deposit preservation.
