Eun-Jung Holden

Professor Eun-Jung Holden from the University of Western Australia (UWA) has leading expertise in the application of data science in earth sciences.  She was trained as a computer scientist at UWA and made a transition to Geoscience in 2006.  She established and leads the Geodata Algorithms Team at UWA, and her research focuses on achieving machine-assisted modelling of geology/resource through transformational and interpretive data science solutions.  The team’s research outputs were disseminated to industry end-users globally, through diverse technology transfer pathways such as commercialisation and public release of software products; and also resulted in two industry driven patent applications.  Her team won various awards including the UWA Vice Chancellor Award in Impact and Innovation in 2015 and she was a winner of Women in Technology, WA (WiTWA) Tech [20+] Awards, 2019.
