OVERVIEW

Having an interesting deposit does not necessarily mean it will ever be brought into production. In fact, the rate of successfully developing a new discovery into an operating mine is roughly 1 in 3,000. It is critical that we decide as early as possible whether or not we should continue spending our time, efforts, and money advancing a low potential property.

In this presentation, attendees will be provided with an overview of the project development stages from discovery, through to development, construction, operation and closure. The challenges, pitfalls, and best practices encountered at each stage will be discussed with an aim to raise the capacity of the attendees to fairly and critically evaluate the potential that their deposit could become one of the rare few that ultimately become an operating mine.
