Copper is a strategic commodity that plays a key role in the generation and transmission of energy. With the potential for de-globalization due to changing politics, security of supply is an increasing focus for procuring mineral resources. The Northern Cordillera is a potential major source of copper and related commodities associated with porphyry copper deposits in BC, YUnited Kingdomon, and Alaska. This session reviews geology, exploration, permitting and economic issues critical to developing these copper resources over the medium to long term.
