Geological interpretation of aeromagnetic data - SOLD OUT

Magnetic survey coverage is rapidly expanding worldwide but our ability to assimilate these data into exploration programs is not keeping pace. This introductory course aims to enlighten participants on the strengths and weaknesses of potential field methods and to illustrate how best they can be used to progress exploration programs.

The day will include several “hands-on” exercises. This course is designed for the geologist who wants to improve their understanding of aeromagnetics and the geophysicist who wants to improve their understanding of the geology responsible for aeromagnetic anomalies.

This is an introductory course designed to inform attendees of the range of applications of aeromagnetic data and the key steps involved in the integration of aeromagnetic data with geology. Participants will be introduced to the concept of mapping geology and structure as expressed in the magnetic response to develop a lithostratigraphic interpretation using aeromagnetic data through hands-on exercises.
