While NI 43-101 is a Canadian national disclosure rule, responsibility for overseeing compliance with the disclosure requirements falls to each of the provincial and territorial securities regulators. In order to provide an effective and consistent regulatory approach, securities regulators’ technical staff from the main Canadian mining jurisdictions work together to ensure harmonized oversight of the rule. This course will include presentations by technical staff from the Ontario Securities Commission, the British Columbia Securities Commission, and the Toronto Stock Exchange who will outline the fundamental principles and disclosure requirements of NI 43-101 and technical reports. This collaborative presentation is designed to assist geoscientists, engineers, and officers and directors to better understand the underlying principles and reporting obligations of NI 43-101, and to assist qualified persons with the preparation of compliant technical disclosure at all stages of a mineral project. The format of the short course will include presentations followed by a question and answer session.
