Data 2.0: Fuel for the next generation of exploration

Wednesday, March 6, 2019
Room 713
Open to all pass types.

The exploration industry globally is recognizing the exploration business is changing rapidly with technologies such as tube drilling, AI, mineral systems, lab-at-the-rig and drones becoming part of the normal buzz in trade journals and conference talks. What will drive this wave of innovation and sought-after discoveries will be our ability to generate the strategic data needed to feed the exploration processes. There will be lots more data than in the past, it will be more complex and it will arrive far more quickly than we have experienced in the past.

This workshop will benchmark where the industry is and where it needs to go in order to have the right data in the right condition to support industries’ changing needs including much faster turn-around times between acquisition to decision making, as well as expanding the ability to share many levels of data with a much broader set of stakeholders. PDAC has a stake in this workshop through its sponsorship and development of the Exploration Assessment Digital Data Format, a proposed Canada-wide standard for the submission of digital assessment results.
