Exploration and mining projects that do not include in local communities in the planning process encounter more challenges throughout the mine life cycle and do not offer the same sustainable growth and value to companies and communities compared to projects developed in collaboration with local partners.
This session brings together multiple companies and a First Nation community impacted by the same exploration and mining value chain in the rural area of Lynn Lake, Manitoba. These local partners will discuss how they are forming and using agreements (commercial, joint venture, exploration agreements, etc.) and partnerships to drive value, stability and sustainable economic benefit for Indigenous communities and companies during exploration, construction and operations.
(This session is part of both the Indigenous and Sustainability Programs)
