PDAC President Ray Goldie in conversation with Newsweek
PDAC President Ray Goldie recently spoke with Newsweek for its upcoming Investment Reports feature on the mining sector.
"Speeding up the pace of discovery and mine development is the one area we must focus on in Canada to achieve the goals of our national critical minerals and emission reduction strategies," Goldie said. "This doesn’t mean we shortcut permitting or assessments, but it does mean we need to see more collaboration between governments, industry, and communities to bring new projects online and provide the raw minerals
we need to transform the way the world works." Read the full interview.

NRCAN updates Critical Minerals List
PDAC is encouraged by Environment and Natural Resources in Canada's (NRCan) decision to add high-purity iron,
phosphorous and silicon metal to Canada’s Critical Mineral list, which reflects some of the feedback PDAC provided to the “Let’s Talk Critical Minerals” consultation in February 2024. We hope that the additions to the list will help boost core parts of the Canadian mineral industry. Learn more here.
