PDAC submission to Minister of Transportation
In December 2022, the Ministry of Transportation proposed amendments to the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) that unintentionally increase regulatory burden and create safety risks in mineral exploration. While none was conducted in 2022, additional modifications made in response to recent wildfires have prompted a public consultation period.

PDAC response to Bill C-34
The federal government is now debating bill C-34, which will amend the Investment Canada Act, presenting new limitations to funding by foreign investors of companies with critical mineral projects. PDAC has some concerns regarding this legislation and submitted a commentary to the House of Commons’ standing committee on Industry, Science and Technology.
