Mary-Claire Ward Geoscience Award Recipient
Congratulations to Benjamin Neil of the University of Alberta, this year’s recipient of the Mary-Claire Ward Geoscience Award. For his PhD, Ben is investigating the Archean to Paleoproterozoic tectono-magmatic evolution of the western Rae craton in the Nonacho Lake area of the southeastern Northwest Territories.

Recipients of the 2022 ERM Sustainability Bursaries
Congratulations to Lori Manoukian, McGill University and Adan Olivares Castro, Queen’s University. Lori received the Innovation in Environmental Performance bursary for her project goal of reducing negative impacts of phosphate rock mining and processing. Adan received the Innovation in Social Performance bursary for research that seeks to understand the reasons mining companies misinterpret Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit (IQ) and Inuit worldviews, using the example of the Mary River Iron Ore (MRIO) mine expansion proposal. PDAC responds to consultation on climate-related disclosure
In response to Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) newly proposed instrument, NI 51-107 Disclosure of Climate-related matters, PDAC emphasized how the proposed instrument must include streamlined reporting for venture issuers and lead to broader recognition of issuers by widely recognized ESG rating agencies.
