Financing still on the rise |
After an extended period of depressed market activity, junior and intermediate companies are finding increased support from investors since February 2016. According to the SNL Monthly Monitor this is likely the result of rising gold prices. Global drilling activity also rose to a seven-month high in June, made higher by strong growth in the number of active gold projects. Learn more.

METC renewed, CEE changes implemented |
PDAC has long advocated for changes to Canadian Exploration Expense (CEE) legislation, and we are pleased to share that Bill C-15 received Royal Assent on June 22. Included in this Bill were two key priorities encouraged by PDAC: renewal of the Mineral Exploration Tax Credit (METC) until March 31, 2017; and changes to legislation so that costs associated with community consultation and environmental studies are considered CEE. Canada second to Australia as most attractive mining jurisdiction |
For the second consecutive year, Saskatchewan ranks as the top mining jurisdiction in Canada, finishing second worldwide behind Western Australia. The Fraser Institute Survey of Mining Companies 2015 rates 109 mining jurisdictions around the world based on a combination of their geologic attractiveness for minerals and metals and their policy attractiveness.
