The Honourable Jim Carr, MP for Winnipeg South Centre, was appointed Minister of Natural Resources and will provide leadership over issues impacting the mineral exploration and development sector. PDAC congratulates all newly-elected MPs and looks forward to working together to strengthen Canada’s world-leading minerals industry. See the full Cabinet list.

New exemptions could help improve access to capital
Securities regulators in Ontario, Quebec, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia have introduced an equity crowdfunding exemption to be in place by January 2016. Additionally, the Ontario Securities Commission will allow companies to use an Offering Memorandum exemption, an alternative to a full prospectus. PDAC has been advocating for these exemptions that could provide alternative capital raising methods for junior mineral exploration companies. Learn more about these and other exemptions.
