IFRS tips
The Mining Industry Task Force on IFRS recently produced a report on the capitalization of borrowing costs for mining companies, outlining factors to be considered in determining whether a mining company should capitalize borrowing costs including defining qualifying assets, eligible costs and impairments.

Mining Professional Immigrant Network (M-PIN) meetup
A free networking event for Ontario mining employers to connect with professionals on January 23. Meet employers who are improving their capacity to recruit, hire and retain professionals, including those with no previous experience. Events held in Toronto and Sudbury.

PDAC Convention Travel Fund
Helping student groups cover the costs of getting to Toronto. Funding is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. February 1 is the deadline to apply.

Volunteer opportunities 
Students can volunteer at the PDAC 2019 Convention in exchange for a complimentary Student All Access Pass, luncheon ticket, food vouchers, volunteer apparel, and a volunteer certificate.
