Member Testimonials

THE PDAC IS RECOGNIZED as one of the leading mineral industry associations in the world and membership in this organization supports all the advocacy efforts that champion development and sustainability of the industry. Barrick is a long term and active corporate member of the PDAC and a proud sponsor of some of the organization’s excellent programs such as the annual convention, annual Student-Industry Mineral Exploration workshop and Mining Matters.
Karen Sutherland, Director, Exploration, Barrick Gold

THE GLOBAL MINING GROUP OF FASKEN MARTINEAU views its membership in the PDAC as an integral part of keeping in touch with the Canadian and international mining communities through participation in PDAC events, like the annual convention, and through the regular updates on developments in the mining scene we receive. We believe membership in the PDAC and active participation by individual members of our group on the board and on various sub-committees are fundamental to our business objectives.
John Turner, Head, Global Mining Group, Fasken Martineau LLP

AS A GLOBAL LEADER IN EXPLORATION DRILLING PRODUCTS AND SERVICES, Boart Longyear is proud to be a member of the PDAC. From the annual convention which brings the leaders of the industry to Toronto to the support for student development, we feel the PDAC is instrumental to the advancement of the mining industry.
John Pike, Sales Director - Canada, Boart Longyear

COLLABORATION WITH STAKEHOLDERS is essential for the Mining Industry Human Resources Council to develop solutions tailored to the needs of our sector.  Being a member of the PDAC connects us to key stakeholders in the mining and mineral exploration industries.  We access this valuable network when developing our programs, to share best practices and to continue to address the common HR challenges of our industry.
Ryan Montpellier, Executive Director, MiHR - Mining Industry Human Resources Council

BEING A MEMBER OF THE PDAC gives one the opportunity to meet people from all over the world. Members come together and face the issues and challenges of the day-to-day business, a network of people, where you come to value partnerships. I started attending industry functions 29 years ago with my husband Frank Grieco of P.R. Engineering Ltd.  Frank and his brother Joe were tragically taken from us in 2007. When I attended my first PDAC function without Frank, I realized that all the people I had met in the industry years before were there to offer their concern and compassion and offers of support and mentoring. Frank would be proud of all of the PDAC members that came to my side. He was proud to be a member and was a staunch supporter of the PDAC. Frank always said it was like a family, and I am proud to be a family member as well.
Linda Grieco, Director, P.R.Engineering Ltd.

FOR ALMOST 40 YEARS, our department and its individual professional staff have been strong supporters of PDAC – the clear voice of Canada’s exploration and mining industry. Our corporate involvement with this internationally recognized industry leader has played a vital role in our success in advancing exploration activity and investment in our province's mineral industry. We share many common goals with PDAC, and particularly support its continuing commitment to advancing best industry practices in assessment and development of this country’s resources. Ongoing leadership by PDAC in issues of the environment and local community engagement, via its e3 Plus program, is fundamental to our goal of building a strong, sustainable industry in Newfoundland and Labrador that maximizes benefits and opportunities for all our citizens.
Sean O’Brien, Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Natural Resources

THE PDAC HOLDS AN IMPORTANT PLACE in the global minerals industry. Through its publications, events and annual convention, the organization greatly contributes to industry growth and development of the minerals community, and thus the global economy.  From humble beginnings over 50 years ago as a small Canadian group of research scientists, SGS Minerals Services has grown into the international industry leader. We have been a corporate member of the PDAC and a sponsor of the annual convention for many years. This membership keeps us in the forefront as the needs of our industry continue to evolve and as the range of services we provide continues to grow.
Jean Richardson, Global Marketing Director, SGS Minerals Services

AS A STUDENT MEMBER, the PDAC convention provides the means to interact with potential employers, colleagues, and old friends.  It’s that time of the year when you are able to reconnect with people from all over the world.  The global mining industry is a small community and I highly recommend students joining the PDAC.  Not only can you attend the annual convention, but you have the opportunity to participate in outstanding events such as the Student-Industry Mineral Exploration workshop and be part of an organization that takes a serious look at sustainable development, aboriginal affairs, and the environment.
