Survey on flow-through
incentives
A study is now under way to assess the
effectiveness of tax credit incentives for flow-through shares,
specifically their ability to increase private sector investment
in exploration projects across Canada. The results of the study,
which is being carried out by the federal government and the
governments of British Columbia, Manitoba, Ontario, Québec,
Saskatchewan, Yukon and the Northwest Territories, will be
reported at the next Canadian Mines Ministers Conference next
fall.
If your company has raised flow-through
since the new tax credit programs were announced at the end of
2000, would you take a few moments to complete this online
survey. Information sought includes: flow-through funds raised;
distribution of the funds; and benefits of using the federal and
provincial tax credits. The British Columbia government is
hosting the survey and will be tabulating the data on behalf of
all of the governments involved.
The PDAC strongly supports this evaluation
and applauds the governments involved for working cooperatively
on the study. We encourage corporate members to complete and
submit the survey. The association will use the results to
further its exploration financing lobby efforts.
