Information resources for communities and companies

Distribution and Field-testing of the Mining Information Kit:
Since its release in Summer 2006, the kit has been distributed to a wide
variety of organizations and individuals. Demand is high and several
thousand bound copies of the kit have been produced; it is now in its
second printing. Aboriginal communities and businesses, exploration and
mining companies, colleges, public policy institutes, NGOs, government
agencies and trade associations, have all shown an interest in the kit
and are making use of it in their work. We welcome comments on the kit
as we want to ensure that it offers a useful information resource for
Aboriginal peoples. Basic information is included in the main text and
additional resources and links are offered towards the back of the
document.
Please tell us what you think:
-
Design / Format:
Is the information kit easy to use? Clearly presented? Is
it easy to find information? Are there areas to improve? (please
offer suggestions)
-
Content:
Is the information relevant to you in your work? Should anything be
added? Revised? Do you like the balance of text, 'Facts & Figures'
boxes, and images?
-
Communications products &
opportunities:
How would you like to see this communicated publicly? Presentations
at conferences? (specific examples) Training sessions and workshops?
Should the kit be translated into additional languages? What other
products / references are needed? (e.g. a list of organizations that
can provide technical support, training etc.?)
Note: our PDAC website offers links to several
information resources such as community engagement guidelines, videos,
fact sheets etc.
To request a copy of the kit or to submit your
comments, please contact
Philip Bousquet,
PDAC Director, Sustainability.
