World exploration budgets drop 19%
It is another rough year for exploration according to new data from SNL. Globally, exploration budgets fell by 19% to $9.2 billion, the lowest total since 2009. Canada experienced similar declines as exploration budgets fell from $1.5 billion in 2014 to $1.2 billion in 2015. Metals experiencing most of the budget declines are platinum, nickel and copper.
