Students

Geoscience students step out of the classroom and into the exploration industry

PDAC hosted the eighth annual Student-Industry Mineral Exploration Workshop (S-IMEW) in Sudbury, Ontario from May 3-16. The workshop brought 26 of Canada’s top geosciences students together to learn more about the industry with a mix of lectures, field exercises, site visits, as well as networking with industry professionals to help them lay the foundation for a successful career in the mineral exploration industry.

S-IMEW is supported by 70-plus industry volunteers and industry sponsors. Without their support, the 26 geoscience students from across Canada would not have had this experience which helps their transition from academia to the real world.
