Mining Matters Diamond in the Rough Golf Classic 2010
For our fourth annual Diamond in the Rough Golf Classic, held at the lovely
Woodington Lake Golf Club, the skies opened but we had player and sponsor
response that surpassed our hopes. Despite the wet weather, we felt like we’d
scored a hole in one. The event raised $45,000, a significant amount that will
help support our program development and delivery.
Exciting auctions, collegiality, and highlights like the Luck of the Irish
Baileys Hole and the ever-so-popular Jamaican Jerk Chicken Hole all contributed
to a memorable day. And we won’t soon forget the challenge of hitting a golf
ball with a baseball bat while dressed up like a famous baseball player, or
digging into Häagen-Dazs® ice cream.
