Junior /
Intermediate Curriculum
If you’re looking for relevant, accurate Earth
science resources for your classroom, you’ve
come to the right place.
Since 1994, Mining Matters has reached more than
400,000 teachers and students through resources
that promote the importance of rocks, metals,
minerals, mining, and Canada’s geology.
Newsletter
Published once a year, groundWORK
reaches
approximately 7,800 Grades 4 and 7 Ontario
teachers. It offers metal/mineral highlights,
current articles, field trip ideas, gem show
calendars, activities, book reviews, Web sites,
etc., and often includes supplemental teaching
tools. |
Junior Miner Competition
Our annual Junior Miner of Ontario Competition
inspires students to produce original entries
that highlight the Earth’s rock and mineral
treasures and their importance in our lives. |
Activities
Hands-on learning never fails to bring new life
to classroom learning. Try one of the activities
we’ve featured in our
newsletters over the years. |
Earth Science Lesson Plans
Our mini-teaching units Gold Diggers’ Days and
Mineral Crystal Clusters complement our
curriculum kits or can be used on their own.
Check out our other suggestions too. |
