Ireland: Open for business

Geological Survey Ireland (GSI - national geoscience organisation) and Enterprise Ireland (national export agency) will host “Ireland - Open for Business”, promoting Ireland as an investment destination, and as a source of internationally traded geoscientific services. Ireland and Canada’s mining industries have had strong links for over 50 years. Ireland is a significant producer of base metals, ranking third in Europe and fourteenth in the world for zinc.

GSI is a division of the Department of Communications, Climate Action and Environment which is also home to the Exploration & Mining Division which is responsible for promoting and regulating exploration and development in Ireland.

Enterprise Ireland and GSI support ‘Geoscience Ireland’ in assisting 34 companies winning international business.

Geological Survey Northern Ireland provides geoscientific data to inform decision making and is part of Northern Ireland’s Department for the Economy.
