The Ecuadorian mining sector has become an important and attractive destination for miners and investors around the world due to its great potential, competitive advantages and world class infrastructure. As part of the Ecuador Day program, the Minister of Mining of the Republic of Ecuador will present the conditions that have been cultivated to establish Ecuador as a premier mining destination. The progress of emblematic mining projects in the country, highlighting the fulfillment of commitments and new opportunities for exploration, will be examined. The Minister will also present the country’s plans to establish mining as a pillar of the economy and the key objectives for inter-institutional strengthening to ensure the responsible and sustainable development of mining projects. Additional presentations will be delivered by leaders of companies currently active in Ecuador.

9:00 am Session 1: Partnership for Good – presentations by the Minister of Mining and leaders of mining companies, regarding the opportunities and advances of the Ecuadorian mining sector

11:00 am Session 2A: Mining as a Pillar of the Country – presentations by government authorities and leaders of mining companies, regarding the public and private sector achievements that are establishing mining as a central foundation of the economic and social development of Ecuador

1:30 pm Networking break

3:00 pm Session 2B: Mining as a Pillar of the Country – continuation of session 2A

4:30 pm Session 3: Exceeding Expectations – the Minister of Mining will highlight the significant new developments in Ecuador’s mining sector
