Tackling gender bias in the mining and exploration industry: Practical tools and resources

This session will be grounded by representatives from the women’s rights movement who can provide external validation for the challenges and opportunities.
In this event, delegates will explore how governments can create an enabling environment for gender-sensitive exploration and mining, how financial actors like the IFC are supporting responsible project development, and how NGOs like Oxfam are promoting gender-responsive policies and practices in the industry. This session will consciously build on the deliberative dialogues on gender issues held in recent years as part of the PDAC Convention’s CSR Events Series.
