The Aboriginal Forum brings together mineral industry practitioners, Aboriginal communities and companies, as well as governments to share experiences and highlight the outcomes when working constructively together. The event is a venue for discussion on creating and sustaining mutually-beneficial relationships in order to foster a successful mineral industry in Canada and generating opportunities for Aboriginal people. Showcasing models for leading practices in community engagement and Aboriginal participation in the mineral industry, this session will feature presentations on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, economic development, and the environment. The Aboriginal Forum will be followed by a networking reception from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm, sponsored by Fasken.
